WELCOME TO THISTLE COUNSELLING
I’m Tiffany and I appreciate you taking the time to visit my site.
Established in 2018, Thistle offers Person-Centred counselling on a face-to-face basis in a safe, confidential, supportive and friendly atmosphere in North Wales, easily accessible by public transport and with free parking on-site.
Sometimes in life, we find ourselves struggling and it can be with any number of things from a difficulty in a current relationship to a bereavement or anxiety we have about work. The important thing to know is that Thistle is here to help by giving you the space, time and freedom to talk, think, understand and work with you to find ways to move forward.
I fully believe that counselling is a form of self-care, much the same as when we do something we enjoy, because it can help bring calm and peace to our lives. Thistle will give you the quiet and understanding space for you to do what you need to find that peace.
I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and I completed my studies at Glyndwr University in Wrexham, whilst undertaking a placement at a well known drug and alcohol charity, which was also based in Wrexham. I have a great deal of experience in working with clients with a range of issues, which has given me the knowledge and confidence to move into private practice.
I also work in collaboration with a national agency providing support to their clients in Wales to help them back into work by providing counselling for a range of issues from anxiety to addiction.
I am passionate about the work I do and am committed to providing my clients with the best possible experience when they seek counselling with me. As mentioned, I think counselling is a form of self-care - how often do we take the time to sit, focus and explore our emotions in the same way we'd take a relaxing bubble bath or go for a walk in the fresh air? I bet it's not as much as you may think. I hope that you'll take the opportunity to give yourself that time by contacting me and working with me, whatever the subject matter may be.
I want you to feel at ease when you come to see me, and hopefully by giving you a relaxed and friendly place to come, you'll find that ease and get what you need. Counsellors don't sit with clipboards diagnosing and we definitely don't judge you for what you bring to sessions! If you want to be sure of working with the right person, I offer half price "get to know you" sessions - these are designed for us to get to know each other, and they're explained more on the "what to expect" page.
Whether having sessions on a short or long term basis, I offer flexibility and discretion, and by working closely in conjunction with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), of which I am a member, as well as their Ethical Framework, I work to the best ability and highest professional standards for all my clients.
